[04-11-2024] Riverside County, CA – 41-Year-Old Man Killed Following Two-Vehicle Collision Along I-10 in Cathedral City

[04-11-2024] Riverside County, CA – 41-Year-Old Man Killed Following Two-Vehicle Collision Along I-10 in Cathedral CityA 41-year-old man was killed following a two-vehicle collision in Cathedral City early Thursday morning, April 11, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 10, east of Palm Drive.

Officers said that a Ford F-150 pickup truck was moving along the No. 2 lane of I-10 at an unknown speed when its driver turned right unsafely, colliding with a 2008 Buick Enclave on the No. 3 lane.

The force of the initial crash threw the Ford to the right shoulder of the freeway, where it then hit a sign and overturned. CHP said that the driver, later identified as 41-year-old Jason J. from Indio, was ejected out of his vehicle in the process. He was pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of the paramedics.

There is no word yet about the current condition of the Buick driver, who was identified only as a 50-year-old woman from Arizona. Initial reports suggest that she was uninjured immediately following the incident.

CHP is still investigating the possible causes of the crash and whether alcohol or drug impairment could be a factor.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal car accident is urged to contact the authorities.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.

  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.

  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.

  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.

  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.

  • Seek immediate medical attention.

  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation.

The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
