A 73-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Mountain View early Wednesday morning, April 09, 2025.
According to the Mountain View Police Department, officers responded to reports of a vehicle-pedestrian crash at the El Camino Real and Escuela Avenue intersection at around 5:28 a.m.
Medical aid was administered at the scene, but the pedestrian from Mountain View succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on-site.
Authorities confirmed that the driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors in the crash.
Traffic along eastbound El Camino Real at Escuela Avenue was closed for several hours and reopened around 11 a.m.
The MVPD traffic team continues to investigate the fatal incident.
