A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Stanislaus County on Tuesday night, April 7, 2026.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of Claribel Road and Langworth Road, just outside Modesto.
Authorities reported that the victim was struck by a vehicle and died at the scene. The driver fled, prompting an investigation and a public request for information.
Based on evidence collected at the scene, investigators initially believed the vehicle involved was a white Ford F-150, model years 2009 to 2014, with damage to the right front headlight, bumper, and hood.
The vehicle was later located with the help of the CHP’s Investigative Services Unit and the Riverbank Police Department.
A 19-year-old man from Riverbank was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death. The names of the suspect and victim have not been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
