[04-07-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Severely Injured Following Single-Vehicle Crash Near Griffith Park

One person was killed, while another was severely injured following a single-vehicle crash near Griffith Park, Los Angeles, on Sunday morning, April 7, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened at about 5:25 a.m. on the roadway connecting the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway and the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway.

CHP officers said that a silver Honda smashed into a guardrail for still unknown reasons. Two persons were trapped inside the vehicle following the collision. CHP found the vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway with significant damage.

One of the two persons involved was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters rescued the other from the wreckage and have been transported to a regional trauma center for severe injuries.

Information about the injured was not disclosed immediately.

The authorities are still gathering all the necessary information to determine the factors leading to the incident.
