[04-06-2025] 3-Year-Old Boy Airlifted After Being Struck by Vehicle in Adelanto NeighborhoodA 3-year-old boy sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in an Adelanto neighborhood on Sunday evening, April 6, 2025.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the 10800 block of Bonanza Road, between Hill Way and Reiman Street. 

Emergency crews from AMR, San Bernardino County Fire, and deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene.

Due to the severity of the child’s injuries, a California Highway Patrol helicopter (H-82) landed at a nearby park near Bellflower Street and Seneca Road to airlift him to a trauma center.

According to Mara Rodriguez, Public Information Officer with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the pedestrian was a 3-year-old boy. Additional information about the circumstances will be released once the investigation is complete.

Neighbors reported that the child was unattended when he ran into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle driven by another neighbor.

Approximately 10 family members arrived at the location about 10 minutes later, stating the boy was autistic and they were unsure how he managed to leave the home.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
