A woman sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a sedan while crossing the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Ben Lomand Way in Riverside on Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 2025.
According to the Riverside Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m., a few blocks from Riverside Municipal Airport.
Sgt. Emilio Angulo reported that the pedestrian, identified only as a Riverside resident, was hit by an eastbound 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by a 25-year-old man.
The driver, who was not injured, immediately stopped and cooperated with authorities.
The injured woman was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where she remained in critical condition as of late Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities confirmed that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the collision.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
