A woman was killed in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Marysville Road in Yuba County on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. south of Bald Mountain Road.
Investigators said the woman was driving a Nissan Maxima northbound on Marysville Road at an undetermined speed when she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma.
The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities believe she may have been involved in a pursuit with CHP’s Grass Valley office the previous night. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later released from jail.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to Adventist Health and Rideout in Marysville with minor injuries. CHP stated that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
