[03-30-2024] Kern County, CA – At Least One Person Killed Following Fiery Two-Vehicle Collision Along SR-178

At least one person was killed following a fiery two-vehicle collision along SR-178, Kern County, on Saturday morning, March 30, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 10:27 a.m. on the 23000-23199 block of SR178. 

Authorities stated that the collision involved a black car and a white car. For unknown reasons, the vehicles collided head-on, resulting in severe damage and debris scattered across the roadway. The black vehicle caught fire after the crash. 

Police said that one individual was severely injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed pending notification of their next kin. 

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all necessary information to determine the cause of the collision.
