A woman was fatally struck while trying to cross a street in Long Beach’s Belmont Heights neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2026.
According to Long Beach police, the crash was reported shortly before 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Fourth Street and Ximeno Avenue.
Investigators said a 53-year-old woman driving a 2003 Toyota SUV made a left turn onto Ximeno Avenue and struck the victim, who was in a marked crosswalk. The woman died at the scene.
The driver remained, and police said there were no indications of speed, impaired driving, or distracted driving being factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
