A 45-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Placerville on Tuesday night, March 18, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. near Highway 49, south of Combie Road.
Authorities reported that the victim walked onto the road when an 88-year-old driver in a Lexus, traveling in the same direction, struck him.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
CHP stated that alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor for the Lexus driver, while the involvement of substances for the pedestrian remains unknown.
The incident is under investigation.
