A head-on collision on SR-371 in Temecula resulted in one fatality and two injuries on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, shortly after 7:00 a.m., a woman driving a silver Honda Insight southbound on SR-371 crossed into the northbound lane, directly into the path of a Toyota Tacoma near Homestead Road.
The crash occurred when the front of the Toyota collided with the Honda, sending both vehicles onto the east dirt shoulder. The Toyota subsequently overturned onto its left side.
The unidentified woman driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The 56-year-old driver of the Toyota and his 11-year-old passenger were airlifted with moderate injuries, and both were taken to nearby hospitals in life-threatening condition.
Officials confirmed that no alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The CHP Temecula Area is continuing its investigation.
