A 23-year-old man from Wheatland was killed, and a 39-year-old Roseville man was injured in a crash in Placer County on Friday morning, March 7, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred before 9:43 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 and Wheatland Road, involving a pickup truck and a sedan.

Emergency responders transported the 39-year-old driver to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries. The 23-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
