[03-04-2026] Riverside County, CA – Bicyclist Critically Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle on Highway 111

A bicyclist was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 111 in Palm Springs on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the crash was reported just after 8:35 a.m., just northwest of Gateway Drive. 

Preliminary investigations suggest the bicyclist moved into traffic in front of an oncoming vehicle, which struck the bicyclist. After the initial collision, the vehicle that struck the bicyclist was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The drivers and passengers of the involved vehicles were unharmed and remained at the scene, cooperating with the investigation. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
