[03-03-2026] Riverside County, CA – Woman Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Palm Desert

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Palm Desert, Riverside County, on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was reported at around 7:40 a.m. in the area of Portola Avenue and Frank Sinatra Drive. 

Deputies arrived at the scene and found a woman in the roadway with significant injuries. Paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Investigators have ruled out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors in the crash.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending next of kin notification. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Deputy Visscher at the Palm Desert sheriff’s station at (760) 836-1600.
