An overturned trailer brought traffic to a halt on Highway 101 over the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo County on Thursday evening, February 27, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 4:53 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, just south of the summit. The trailer was being towed by a truck when it overturned, blocking the No. 1 and No. 2 southbound lanes.
Reports suggest that a motorcyclist may have been involved in the crash, though further details were not immediately available.
CHP officers requested assistance from Caltrans for traffic control on both sides of the highway. Southbound traffic was at a standstill near Old Stage Coach Road, and northbound lanes were heavily congested from the summit to the Vista De La Ciudad area.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the trailer overturn.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
