INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[02-26-2025] San Bernardino County, CA – 74-Year-Old Man Severely Injured in Hit-And-Run Crash on Grand Avenue in Yucca Valley

A 74-year-old man sustained major injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Grand Avenue near SR-62 (Twentynine Palms Highway) in Yucca Valley, San Bernardino County, on Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred around 8:05 a.m. when the victim was crossing Grand Avenue at the intersection of SR-62.

A red hatchback traveling southbound on Grand Avenue struck the man. The driver briefly assisted the injured pedestrian to the curb before getting back into the vehicle, making a U-turn, and fleeing northbound on Grand Avenue.

The injured pedestrian was transported to a hospital with major injuries.

Authorities from the Morongo Basin CHP Station and a helicopter from Sheriff’s Aviation conducted a thorough search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, approximately 40 to 50 years old, wearing a black shirt, black shorts, and black shoes at the time of the incident.

The suspect vehicle is described as an unknown make/model red hatchback.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is actively seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect and vehicle involved in this incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
