An electric bicycle rider was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Hawthorne and Artesia Boulevards in Torrance early Saturday morning, February 22, 2025.
According to the Torrance Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. Paramedics rushed the injured cyclist to a hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities located and detained the driver involved in the hit-and-run. The suspect was taken into custody.
No descriptions of the suspect or the victim were provided.
The intersection was closed for several hours as officials conducted a detailed investigation due to the severity of the rider’s injuries. The roadway has since been reopened.
