A 17-year-old motorcyclist was severely injured in a chain-reaction collision involving an SUV and a pickup truck near Castle Park High School in Chula Vista on Friday morning, February 21, 2025.
According to Officer Oscar Miranda, the crash happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. when the teenager was riding his motorcycle northbound on Hilltop Drive. The motorcycle collided head-on with a Ford F-150 at the intersection of East Rienstra Street.
The impact threw the teen off his motorcycle and into a westbound GMC Yukon.
Paramedics transported the boy, identified as a Chula Vista resident, to a hospital for treatment of serious trauma.
No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
