[02-19-2025] San Diego County, CA – Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle on I-8 On-Ramp in El Cajon

A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on the on-ramp from Second Street to Interstate 8 westbound in El Cajon on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2025.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jasmine Lopez, authorities received a call shortly before 2 a.m. about an unknown man lying in the roadway at the on-ramp.

Upon arrival, first responders performed lifesaving measures on the man, who was suffering from major trauma injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the incident. No additional information is available at this time.
