A motorcyclist suffered major injuries following a collision with an SUV near Scotts Valley in Santa Cruz County on Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Santa Cruz units were dispatched at around 7:45 a.m. to the intersection of Graham Hill Road and Cress Road after reports of a crash involving a 2018 Toyota RAV4 and a 2023 Honda Rebel motorcycle.
Investigators stated that a 32-year-old woman from San Jose was driving the Toyota RAV4 southbound on Graham Hill Road and attempting to make a left turn onto Cress Road when the vehicle collided with the northbound Honda motorcycle, operated by a 25-year-old man from Soquel.
Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in San Jose for treatment. Authorities reported that the driver of the Toyota RAV4, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
Officials indicated that alcohol or drugs were not believed to have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
