At least one person was killed following a crash near Highway 14 in the California City area in Kern County on Tuesday night, February 3, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:48 p.m. on the California City Boulevard off-ramp near the Randsburg Cutoff, west of Highway 14.
CHP officials stated that a woman was reportedly pinned beneath a vehicle following the collision. Authorities also reported that at least two children, including an infant, were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The identity of the deceased has not been released. The Kern County Coroner is expected to release the victim’s name at a later time.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
