A 45-year-old pedestrian, identified as Arturo R., was killed after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles on Saturday night, January 31, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at around 8:33 p.m. on the northbound 110 Freeway north of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Investigators stated that the pedestrian ran from the right shoulder toward the center divider while attempting to cross the freeway when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported that he died from blunt traumatic injuries sustained in the accident.
CHP officials said the vehicle involved was a 2015 Mercedes-Benz driven by a 30-year-old woman from Moreno Valley. The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The incident remains under investigation.
