[01-29-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Five Injured After Single-Vehicle Crash Near Chinatown Area

Five people were injured following a crash near the Chinatown area in Los Angeles, early Thursday morning, January 29, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash was reported at around 12:46 a.m. near the intersection of Figueroa Street and Sunset Boulevard. 

Investigators stated that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Sunset Boulevard when it struck a center median.

Police said the driver continued traveling after the initial impact and struck a curb and a light pole before the vehicle came to rest. Authorities indicated the car had crashed a total of three times during the incident.

The five passengers inside the vehicle were transported to local hospitals for treatment. LAPD reported that one individual suffered severe injuries. No additional details about the victims were released.

Investigators have not yet determined what led to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
