A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway connector road Wednesday evening, January 29, 2025, in Monterey Park.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 11:08 p.m. on the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway at the connector road to the Long Beach (710) Freeway.
The victim was reportedly walking in a construction zone in the middle lanes before a dark-colored vehicle hit them. Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles and declared dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
The crash prompted the closure of three lanes on the freeway connector.
Investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
