A 49-year-old bicyclist, identified as Carlos R. of Oakland, was killed in a crash involving a vehicle in Walnut Creek on Wednesday morning, January 22, 2025.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Main Street near Ygnacio Valley Road. Officials stated that the collision happened away from the intersection.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said that criminal charges were unlikely.
The bicyclist was reportedly commuting to work in Walnut Creek at the time of the crash. He was described as a devoted father to two children, Diego and Keny, and a loving husband to his wife, Cristina.
