[01-21-2026] Ventura County, CA – Oxnard Bicyclist Killed in Crash with Vehicle on Wooley Rd.

A 23-year-old bicyclist died from injuries suffered in a crash with a vehicle on Wooley Road in Oxnard on Wednesday evening, January 21, 2026.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers responded to the area of Wooley Road and Industrial Avenue around 6:30 p.m. and found the man with major injuries lying along the eastbound lanes of Wooley. 

An initial investigation revealed that a 2008 Toyota Highlander, driven by a 79-year-old Oxnard woman, was traveling eastbound on Wooley when it struck the bicyclist ahead in the same lanes.

The man was launched from his bicycle and landed on the street. He was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Authorities have not released his identity.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.

The Oxnard Police Department is investigating the incident.
