[01-12-2025] Two Hospitalized After Three-Car Crash During Protest on Blackstone AvenueTwo people were hospitalized following a three-car collision during a large anti-deportation protest on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno on Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2025.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash occurred on the southbound lanes of Blackstone Avenue near Nees Avenue as hundreds of protesters gathered on foot and in vehicles, causing major traffic disruptions.

The collision involved three vehicles, and two individuals were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities reported that the driver of one vehicle, a black car, fled the scene on foot before paramedics arrived to assist their front-seat passenger. The driver is still at large.

Fresno police are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information about the driver or the crash to contact authorities.

The protest and the crash led to significant delays, with southbound Blackstone Avenue blocked off at Nees Avenue.
