[01-11-2026] Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Colliding with Pedestrian in Farmersville.webpA suspected DUI driver was arrested after colliding with an 87-year-old man, ultimately killing him in Farmersville, Tulare County, on Sunday evening, January 11, 2026.

According to the Farmersville Police Department, officers responded around 5:30 p.m. to reports of a person hit by a vehicle in the 600 block of South Farmersville Boulevard, near Oakland Street. 

Authorities found the man lying in the roadway with serious injuries. He was given first aid before being transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity has not been officially released.

Investigators said a 2002 black Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on South Farmersville Boulevard when the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way. The right front of the Chevrolet collided with the pedestrian.

The driver, 38-year-old Valentin T. of Exeter, remained at the scene and was cooperative but found to be under the influence. Torres was arrested and booked on felony charges of DUI.

The investigation is ongoing.
