A driver was killed after crashing into a semi-truck on Highway 1 in Santa Maria early Saturday morning, January 11, 2025.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the collision.
Both vehicles were cleared from the roadway approximately 45 minutes later, and Highway 1 remains open in both directions.
Santa Barbara County Fire crews, along with Guadalupe and Santa Maria Fire personnel, are assisting the coroner at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and additional details will be provided as they become available.
