[01-09-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – 15-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 5 Fwy. Near Griffith Park

A 15-year-old boy was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park in Los Angeles County on Friday evening, January 9, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters responded shortly before 8:20 p.m. near Los Feliz Boulevard to reports of a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a vehicle that struck the center divider and left a juvenile trapped. 

Authorities said the boy was extricated from the wreckage in approximately 12 minutes and transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately known. The investigation is ongoing.
