[01-08-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Semi-Truck Rollover Blocks Lanes on I-5 Near Vista Del Lago

A semi-truck rollover blocked all southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Vista Del Lago in Los Angeles County on Thursday morning, January 8, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office, officers were dispatched to the crash at approximately 10:46 a.m. 

Initial reports indicated multiple semi-trucks were involved, but CHP later confirmed that only one semi-truck had rolled onto its side, with debris striking one additional vehicle. Authorities said the overturned truck blocked southbound lanes approaching the Santa Clarita Valley.

CHP reported that by around 12:20 p.m., lanes three and four were reopened, while lanes one and two were expected to remain closed for several more hours. Officials stated that no injuries were reported and no individuals were transported from the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
