[01-06-2026] Fresno County, CA – Man Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle at Fresno Street and Pine Avenue

A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in central Fresno on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2026.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:45 a.m. at Fresno Street and Pine Avenue.

Police said the driver and witnesses reported that the man entered the roadway, which led to the collision. The man was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Police stated that the driver is cooperating with the investigation and that alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash. 

The identity of the man has not been released, but authorities said he was part of the unhoused community.
