A 65-year-old woman was killed following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Daly City on Thursday morning, January 1, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was first reported just after 11:10 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 280 north of Serramonte Boulevard.
CHP said the vehicle involved flipped onto its roof, trapping one person inside. A coroner was requested to the scene shortly after 11:35 a.m. The woman was pronounced dead, and her identity has not yet been released.
Authorities said a 19-year-old female front-seat passenger from Contra Costa County sustained minor injuries. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and remained hospitalized, where a blood alcohol test was to be administered before booking into the San Mateo County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
