[01-01-2025] Two Injured After Vehicle Goes Off Avila Beach Drive Onto Rocks Near Olde Port BeachTwo occupants sustained minor injuries after a car went off Avila Beach Drive and onto the rocks near Olde Port Beach in Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo County, on Wednesday afternoon, January 1, 2025.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:01 p.m. A gray Mercedes hatchback collided with a white Mini Cooper before veering off the roadway and landing 20 to 30 feet down on the rocks.

Both occupants of the Mercedes were reported attempting to exit the vehicle shortly after the crash and were treated for minor injuries, according to CHP Officer Matthew Kenney.

A tow truck was dispatched to the scene around 2:11 p.m. to recover the vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
