A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle that fled the scene near Century Boulevard and South Figueroa Street in South Los Angeles early Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred outside a gas station in the Vermont Vista neighborhood.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner responded to the scene and transported the deceased pedestrian.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to come forward.
