[01-01-2025] One Killed After Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 58 Near Clay Mine RoadAt least one person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Kern County, early Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:36 a.m. on eastbound Highway 58 near Clay Mine Road in North Edwards.

The collision resulted in the closure of all lanes, with the second lane reopening at approximately 7:26 a.m.

The crash has been classified as a fatality, but the identity of the deceased and details about any additional injuries remain unknown.

CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision. No further information has been released at this time.
